CTS Turbo Direct Fit front mount intercooler kit for pre-MQB platform cars with 1.8 or 2.0 TSI Gen3 EA888 engines. The stock intercooler is sufficient for factory boost levels, but once the car is remapped, it overheats and the ECU pulls timing or boost to protect itself. This kit is a direct replacement and, due to having less pressure drop, the turbo operates more efficiently.
It uses a 58.4 x 41.9 x 5.1 cm (23 x 16.5 x 2 inch) bar and plate core with cast aluminum end tanks, rated by the manufacturer for over 600 hp. It mounts to the original points without cutting the bumper or the reinforcement bar. Includes four-ply silicone hoses, a machined adapter for the turbo outlet pipe, and stainless steel clamps.
According to the manufacturer, it is compatible with the Jetta 1.8T and GLI 2.0T Gen3 (mid-2013 to 2017), Beetle 1.8T and 2.0T Gen3 (2012 to 2017), and Passat 1.8T and 2.0T Gen3 (2012 to 2019). This list refers to North American models, so if your car is European, please confirm it has the Gen3 EA888 engine or write to us before ordering. A different version exists for the EA113 and Gen1 EA888 engines.
