NGK PFR7S8EG spark plug from the Laser Platinum range, recommended for VAG group 1.8 and 2.0 FSI, TFSI, and TSI engines, such as those in the Golf 5 GTI and Golf 6 GTI and R.

It is a double platinum spark plug with a 1 mm fine-wire center electrode and laser-welded platinum on the ground electrode as well. The fine electrode requires less voltage to generate a spark, resulting in better cold starts and maintaining consistent ignition under load, which is essential for a turbocharged engine. As it wears slowly, the gap remains stable for thousands of kilometers.
