Driftmax Steering Angle Plates up to 60% BMW E46
€109,00
Installing these adapters alone increases the steering angle. However, to operate at full capacity beyond a 60° lock angle on your E46, additional modifications are recommended and can be selected above:
The original (OEM) lower arms are long enough to use these adapters on the E46, but extended lower arms (by 3 cm) will provide even more angle.
If using extended lower arms, opt for X3 or E9X 3 Series tie rods, which are longer than those of the E46.
To prevent the wheels from rubbing against the control arms at full lock, mount 17" diameter front wheels, 7.5" or 8" wide, with an ET close to 30-35.
Front tire sizes of 205/40, 205/45, 215/40, or 215/45 are recommended.
To accommodate the extended lower arms, we recommend moving the top of the shock absorber outward and slightly forward using 3D adjustable camber plates.
Reinforce the wishbone bushings, either with high-hardness polyurethane bushings with caster offset to extend the adjustment range, or with ball-joint style "lollipop" mounts.
Please note that these adapters only fit standard E46 hubs (they are not suitable for M3 hubs).
Recommended “Drift” alignment setting
Below you will find some alignment values, tested and approved by us and our customers, known to provide good results in drifting and offer optimal vehicle control. Of course, this guide remains generic: it offers basic guidelines, which must be adapted according to your vehicle and its modifications, its weight and power, your driving style, the type of tires, the track or weather conditions, etc. It is not specific to BMW, and can be used as a reference on many other cars such as Nissan 200SX, Skyline, Mazda MX-5, RX-8, Toyota Supra …
