This IRP short shifter is for the Nissan 350Z/Z33 and Infiniti G35/G37. Its function is to reduce the throw between gears to shift faster and more precisely, which is noticeable both on the track and on the road.
IRP manufactures it from machined aluminum and stainless steel. It maintains the standard H-pattern and connects to the original gearbox mechanism. It incorporates screw-adjustable stops to limit lateral travel and prevent missed shifts when changing gears quickly.
In the V3 version, reverse gear is unlocked using the button integrated into the lever itself, and the lever is taller than the stock one, meaning the hand travels less distance from the steering wheel.
For competition. As it is made of solid aluminum, it transmits more transmission noise than the stock shifter. IRP recommends checking the condition of the engine and transmission mounts, or installing stiffer ones, to get the most out of it.
