If you are looking for a shorter and more direct gear change in your BMW-type gearbox for Mazda MX-5 NA/NB (tunnel mount), this IRP short shifter reduces the lever throw and provides a very precise mechanical feel.
The body is CNC-machined and anodized aluminum, with stainless steel hardware. It connects to the original linkage, so the shift pattern remains the stock one. It features adjustable screw stops that prevent you from engaging the wrong gear, for example, skipping into the wrong one when downshifting.
In the V3 version, the reverse gear is unlocked using the button integrated into the lever itself, and the lever sits higher than the stock one, so your hand travels less distance from the steering wheel.
Competition part. It is normal for the transmission to be noisier than with the stock lever. With firm engine and gearbox mounts, or at least ones in good condition, the feel is greatly improved.
